TITLE: COASTING: RUNNING A 5,000 MILE LAP OF BRITAIN - WITH ELISE DOWNING

TIME: 8:00PM
LOCATION: Noa Bakehouse
COST: £7.50

In 2015, when she was just 23 years old, Elise Downing announced that she was going to attempt to run 5000 miles around the coast of Great Britain, carrying her kit on her back – which came as quite a surprise to everyone, including herself! Somehow she managed the feat, helped along the way by hundreds of complete strangers and overcoming obstacles varying from one of the wettest winters on record, to endless self-doubt, to an almost debilitating fear of cows.

Elise will share the highs and lows of her 10 month adventure, with her trademark honesty and humour, and talk about how she translated her experience into words in her book, Coasting – described in a review by Travel Writing World as “an inspiration” and listed by The Times as one of the best sports books of 2021.
