The Manx Litfest Writers’ Group is a chance for any local writers, budding or established, to get together once a month and meet with others who are interested in writing.
We have formed a community of writers who help and encourage each other, discuss the highs and lows of writing, and work on their own writing in a shared space. We welcome all writers, whether they write fiction or non-fiction, poetry or prose, short stories or full length novels, those who write for adults, those who write for children, and anyone in between.
Each month three writers get the chance to share some work with the group, and then receive feedback and constructive criticism from the other members.
We also run creative writing workshops, have dedicated discussion time, and give people the chance to either do some free-writing on any work they have in progress, or work from our big bag of prompts!
We meet on the 4th Saturday of each month, at The Yejj on Broadway (to the right of Broadway Baptist Church) in Douglas from 1-4pm. Meetings cost £4 for the first couple of meetings, and then an annual subscription of £35, but we supply you with unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits while you are there.
